Aftercare Guidelines
If a transparent bandage was applied:
Monitor the bandage to ensure it fully covers the tattoo.
If any portion of the tattoo becomes exposed due to the bandage lifting, remove the bandage.
Ideally, the bandage should remain in place for three to five days.
If you notice any adverse reactions to the bandage, such as swelling or redness, remove it.
Avoid direct sun exposure and submerging the tattoo in water for one month.
Be aware that blood and plasma may collect under the bandage. Although this may appear alarming, it is normal and will wash away once the bandage is removed. It will not affect the appearance of the tattoo.
If a transparent bandage was not applied:
Wash the tattoo throughout the day with antibacterial liquid soap and warm water.
Allow the tattoo to air dry, or dry it with a clean towel or paper towel each time.
For the first three to four days of the healing process, ensure your hands are clean and apply a very thin, even layer of Aquaphor over the tattoo.
Continue with the washing regimen, but switch to a regular lotion without dyes or fragrances after the first three to four days of using Aquaphor. Do this until the tattoo is completely healed. Again, ensure your hands are clean before application.
Avoid excessive abrasion, scratching, or picking, as well as direct sun exposure and submerging the tattoo in water for one month.
Be aware that healing varies between individuals and you may need to adjust these recommendations to suit your specific needs.
Although rare, if you experience any persistent adverse reactions or signs of infection, consult a medical professional.
To increase the longevity of your tattoo, be sure to apply sunscreen before sun exposure.
